The council will elect its 2006 officers, choosing a mayor and vice mayor from among current members. These positions rotate annually and involve running meetings and representing the city at events.

Ten personnel items dominate the agenda, creating new job classifications across multiple departments. The Finance Department seeks to add an Investment Analyst position and reclassify one accounting role to Budget Analyst. The Fire Department wants a Fire Permit Technician position and plans to promote a current office worker.

Several departments are requesting new management positions. Public Works wants an Operations Administrator, while the Library & Community Services Department seeks an Administrative Manager. The Engineering Department plans to promote its current secretary to a new Operations Administrator role.

The agenda also includes updates to existing job descriptions for the Administrative Chief and Fire Chief positions. The City Attorney's Office wants to create a dedicated City Prosecutor classification to handle prosecutions currently managed by outside attorneys.
